Fox Cycling Instructor: Lucy
Lucy: Hi! My interests have always been all things sporty, I have a BA hons in Applied Sports Science and an MSc in Nutrition & Public Health. My day job involves health screening including VO2 testing and cardiology health screening. In my spare time I enjoy training and compete in triathlons and various running events.
Fox: Not at all scary then! How would you describe the style of your classes?
Lucy: I'd say my teaching style is structured, with each session designed with specific outcomes in mind such as improving lactate tolerance, increasing Vo2 max and increasing aerobic capacity to mention a few.
Fox: Great for people wanting a challenge and to take their fitness to the next level then. How would other people describe your style?
Lucy: Structured, possibly a bit militant, but fun!
Fox: And that last one is by far the most important! What would you like your riders to get out of their 'Lucy' sessions?
Lucy: That all over feel good sensation!
Fox: And a great sense of achievement as well. Who would you like to come to your sessions and why?
Lucy: Sir Chris Hoy, just to marvel at his power test results!
Fox: Just the power test results? How else do you like to spend your time when you're not a the studio?
Lucy: Swimming, cycling, running, trips to the coast to catch some waves and general adventuring whenever possible.
Fox: And is there anything you really can't stand?
Lucy: Dropping litter - pick it up people!
Fox: Well said, lady! So, how about the inside track on you? What do people tend not to know about you?
Lucy: Nine years ago I swam the English Channel in 11hrs and 38 minutes!
Fox: And there you have it, people - Lucy is one superfit lady, and she's happy to put you through your paces and help you achieve more than you thought possible.
