Fox Cycling Online Instructor: Jools
Jools: I'm a massive fan of all types of cycling - track cycling, road cycling and mountain biking. it's in my blood.anything with two wheels puts a smile on my face! I teach English to teenagers by day, but by night my Superhero secret is my passion for indoor cycling! Cycling at Fox has helped me become a better cyclist so I couldn't hold myself back from wanting to become an instructor too. Having cycled some of Europe's toughest climbs, I have been astounded at the improvements to my fitness and lactic threshold capacity that studio cycling has brought.
Fox: And a great ambassador as well! How about your style, how would you describe your sessions?
Jools: I always want people in the studio to leave with a happy face and feeling as if they've made health and fitness benefits, so games and energy are important features of my classes. I always approach the planning of my classes in a way which I hope will inspire confidence in people who are new or nervous about joining group studio cycling but also demanding enough for those who want to really challenge themselves. Lots of the games which I have devised are based on my own experience of outdoor group riding and having fun at the velodrome.
Fox: How do you think others would describe your style?
Jools: In was once called the Smiling Assassin. I (secretly) high-fived myself.
Fox: Nice job! So what do you think customers get from your classes?
Jools: That indoor cycling is fantastic for fitness and for putting a smile on your face.
Fox: And who would you like to have in your class?
Jools: I would love to have a pro-rider in my class.even though I would be nervous of their feedback it would still be great to see them handle the challenges and to see if they enjoyed it too! Imagine if a Fox Studio cyclist beat Mark Cavendish in a studio sprint challenge? Whoop whoop!
Fox: Wouldn't it be great to fix that up? How about when you're not lycra-clad and smiling? What do you like doing?
Jools: I love to cycle (as you may have guessed) and I also love to cook; I am a total vegetarian and I enjoy the challenge of balancing my nutrition for cycling through a healthy animal-free diet.
Fox: And what irritates you?
Jools: People who dawdle in the middle of pavements, and lateness.
Fox: I suppose it would be, being a teacher! How about telling us something about you that people don't generally know?
Jools: I was once in a children's TV game show called 'Get Your Own Back'. Among other things I had to dress as a gorilla and catch bananas in a basket to avoid being plunged into gunge. Yep, I definitely prefer my Fox Cycling instructor role!
